The data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties when SSL or TLS encryption has been activated.

3. How data is collected on this website

Cookies

In some cases, this website uses co-called cookies. Cookies cannot damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our offering more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies that we use are so-called ‘session cookies’. They are automatically deleted when you leave our website. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser when you next visit our website.

You can change your browser’s settings so that you are notified whenever cookies are placed on your computer. These settings enable you to accept cookies on a case-by-case basis or for specific cases as well as to stop them altogether. You can also activate the delete function so that the cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Some of the website’s functions may be restricted if you disable the cookies.

Cookies that are required to enable electronic communication processes or to provide certain functions that you wish to use (e.g. shopping basket) are stored based on Art. 6 Para. 1(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies to ensure that its services can be provided without technical errors and in the best possible manner. If other cookies (e.g. cookies for analysing your surfing behaviour) are stored, then these are listed separately in this Privacy Policy.

Server log files

The provider of this website automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which are then automatically transmitted to us by your browser. This information includes:

  • the type and version of browser used
  • the operating system being used
  • the referrer URL
  • the hostname of the computer accessing the site
  • the time of the server enquiry
  • the IP address

This data is not added to other sources of data. The provider only stores these server log files temporarily before deleting them.

The legal basis for the processing of data is Art. 6 Para. 1(f) GDPR that permits the processing of data if this is necessary for the performance of a contract or to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

Contact form / Contacting us by email

When you use the contact form to send us an enquiry, then the information and contact details that you provide in the contact form are stored by us so that we can process your inquiry and, where necessary, ask further questions. We do not share this data without your consent.

This means that the data provided in the contact form is processed solely on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time. All you need do here is to send us an email to this effect. The withdrawal of your consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data before you withdrew your consent.

We keep the data provided in the contact form until you ask us to erase the data, you withdraw your consent to your data being stored or if the purpose for which the information is stored no longer applies (e.g. after we have finished processing your inquiry).

Furthermore, this website contains information (e.g. in the Legal Notice) that must be provided by law to enable people to contact our company quickly using electronic means (e.g. via our email address). If a person contacts us by email, then the personal data provided by this person is automatically stored for an unlimited period of time. The data that is transmitted to us when a person contacts us is stored so that we can process their request or contact the person concerned.

Statutory provisions – in particular, mandatory data retention periods – remain unaffected by this.

Transmission of data for competitions/prize draws

When a person takes part in a competition, the person’s contact details are stored to make it possible for us to inform them if they have won a prize as well as for us to contact them at a later date. Participation in such competitions is voluntary. People must consent to the terms and conditions for participating in the competition and to the additional note regarding data protection to be able to take part in the competition/to have their data transmitted. Your data is not shared with third parties, e.g. for advertising purposes, without your express consent.

4. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions provided by Google Analytics, a web analytics service. This service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.

Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’. These are text files that are stored on your computer to help analyse how you use this website. The information generated by the cookie about how you use this website is usually transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States.

Google Analytics cookies are stored based on Art. 6 Para. 1(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour to optimise both its website services and its advertising activities.

IP anonymisation

We have activated IP anonymisation on this website. This means that Google shortens your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in other states that have ratified the Convention on the European Economic Area before it transmits it to the United States. Complete IP addresses are only transmitted to one of Google’s servers in the United States and shortened there in exceptional cases. Google uses this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse your use of this website in order to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet usage. Google does not add the IP address transmitted to Google Analytics by your browser to its other data.

Browser plug-in

You can prevent these cookies being stored on your device by changing the settings of your browser software; please note, however, that some functions on this website may not be fully accessible if you do this. You can also prevent Google from using the cookie to collect data about the way you use our website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing a browser plug-in. Simply use the following link to access this plug-in: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objecting to the collection of data

You can prevent Google Analytics collecting your data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be placed on your device that prevents your data being collected when you visit our website in the future: deactivate Google Analytics.

Further information about how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Commissioned data processing

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and implement all the stringent rules and regulations stipulated by the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographic data in Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics’ ‘Demographics Reports’. This enables reports to be compiled that provide information about the age, gender and interests of the people visiting our website. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google as well as from visitor data from third-party providers. You can deactivate this function at any time via the advertising settings in your Google account or you can generally prohibit Google Analytics from collecting your data as shown, for example, in the above section ‘Objecting to the collection of data’.

5. Newsletter

Newsletter data

If you wish to receive the newsletter offered on this website, then we need an email address from you as well as information that enables us to check that you are the owner of the named email address and that you are happy to receive the newsletter. No other data is collected or rather is only collected on a voluntary basis. We only use this data to send the information requested and do not share it with third parties.

The data that is provided in the newsletter subscription form is processed solely on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent regarding the storage of your data and your email address and the use of this information to send you our newsletter by, for example, clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter. The withdrawal of your consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data before you withdrew your consent.

The data that you provide us with to enable you to receive our newsletter is stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and is deleted after you cancel the newsletter. Data that is stored by us for other purposes (e.g. email addresses for the members’ area) remains unaffected by this.

6. Plug-ins and tools

YouTube

Our website uses plug-ins from YouTube, a site operated by Google. The operator of this site is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.

When you visit one of our pages with a YouTube plug-in, it will connect you to YouTube’s servers. The YouTube server will also receive information about which of our pages you visited.

If you are signed in to your YouTube account, then you allow YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this happening by signing out of your YouTube account.

We use YouTube to make our online offering more appealing. This constitutes a legitimate interest in line with Art. 6 Para. 1(f) GDPR.

Further information about how user data is handled can be found in YouTube’s Privacy Policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Google Fonts

We use so-called web fonts provided by Google to ensure that this website displays uniform fonts. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display the texts and fonts correctly.

To be able to do this, your browser must establish a connection to Google’s servers. This means that Google is made aware that our website was accessed via your IP address. We use Google web fonts in order to present our online offering in a uniform and appealing way. This constitutes a legitimate interest in line with Art. 6 Para. 1(f) GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, then your computer will use a standard font.

Further information about Google’s web fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps mapping services via an API key. This service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland.

Your IP address must be stored for you to be able to use the Google Maps services. This information is usually transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. The operator of this website has no control over the transfer of this data.

We use Google Maps to make our online offering more appealing as well as to make it easier for people to find the places mentioned on our website. This constitutes a legitimate interest in line with Art. 6 Para. 1(f) GDPR.

Further information about how user data is handled can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

7. Our online presence on social media

We have set up online pages on social network platforms so that we can both communicate with people who use the sites and who are actively interested in our business and provide them with information. User data may be processed outside the European Union by the platform operators in such cases. This may create risks for users because this might, for example, make it more difficult for users to assert their rights.

The platform operators generally use the data they collect about users for market research and advertising purposes. This may mean, for example, that the information they have about the users’ interests – gathered from the way they use the sites – is used to place advertisements inside and outside the platforms that reflect the interests of the users. In most cases, cookies are stored on the users’ computers to enable them to do this. Furthermore, data can also be stored in the user profiles irrespective of which devices are used (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are signed in).

The following provides information about how we process personal data that is collected via our online presence on social media platforms. In its ruling of 05 June 2018, the ECJ confirmed that the service provider and the platform operator have joint responsibility. When you visit a social media platform, you are given the opportunity to react to our posts, to comment on them, to create your own user posts and to send us a private message regarding a personal matter. Both the data provided by you in such cases and the data that may be made available to us (e.g. username, photos, interests (if applicable), contact details) are only used by us to communicate with customers and to communicate our interests. Our interest here is to offer you a platform that enables us to show you current information, and that can be used by you to send us a request and by us to handle your request as quickly as possible.

G-TEC uses photos and video clips on social media platforms for marketing purposes. Personal data contained in these are only processed with the consent of the data subject(s). The legal basis for processing the data recorded is Art. 6 Para. 1(a) GDPR. Data subjects can request that we delete this stored personal data at any time. The data subject has the right to be informed about what personal data is stored about them at any time. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed to fulfil the purpose it was collected for or if consent is withdrawn.

We do not carry out any other data processing activities using these sites besides the basic functions. Please note that the platform operators may use tracking tools and cookies irrespective of how we use the sites.
Please use the links below to find out more about how the platform operators process data and how to prevent data being collected (opt-outs); these links will take you to the information provided by the platform operators.

We would also like to point out that the most effective way for you to request information and to assert your user rights is for you to approach the platform operators directly. Only the platform operators have access to their users’ data and can take appropriate measures immediately and provide the information you need. Should you still need help, then you can contact us.

  • – Facebook (Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland): Privacy Policy, opt-out.
  • Google / YouTube (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA): Privacy Policy, opt-out.
  • Xing and/or Kununu (New Work SE, Dammtorstraße 30, 20354 Hamburg, Germany): Privacy Policy, opt-out.
  • LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland) – Privacy Policy, opt-out.

The length of time that the personal data is stored is determined by the relevant mandatory data retention periods. The data is deleted as a matter of routine once the retention period has expired unless it is needed for the performance of a contract or to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

The data that we store about you as a result of you using our online presence on social media platforms will – as far as it is possible for us to do so – be deleted when the site is closed down.

Should you have a question about our information services, then you can contact us at info@gtec.de. Further information about Facebook and other social media platforms and about how you can protect your data can be found at youngdata.de.
